The third piece from my senior thesis series, Human-Animal Bonds. Hamsters are a small pet that often get mistreated and used as entertainment for small children, when they deserve the love and respect that any of us do, regardless of what they can “provide” for us. I made the choice to depict a child nearing the age of 10+ gently observing her pet to convey the gentle care they need from an older kid who may possess the maturity to respect and care for them properly.
